Hello, M voleak. I wanted to keep the recorder running at the background. How can I do that?

This is magnificent! I have just two little requests:

  1. Please reconsider the file naming scheme: a) use the caller name from contacts instead of the phone number, and b) embed the actual datetime of the call instead of this id-number.

  2. Make it possible to autostart the daemon services as the phone starts.

[And regarding the first request, please support renaming existing records into any new name format when making changes!]

I would also love to see the autostart in the next update. Tend to forget to open the app sometimes.

yes, autostart, or an option to set autostart, would be really great.

I think 1.b) is not necessary because you can find datetime from file properties (created date). Thanks!

And must add that the actual file naming "under the hood" can remain phone number based etc. It is just that the GUI should translate those somewhat cryptic filenames to more accessible contact names, and calling dates and times

mzr

Oh, that is very true! And the file creation date and time is already shown in the file list with a smaller font.

The rationale was that sometimes the original file creation date gets lost when copying / restoring from backups etc. In this regard, using a datetime id makes more sense than any "random" id-number.

Nevertheless, you have truly made an awesome application!

Is it beepless?

mzr

Yes, it is. I tested v 0.0.4 with a 2 minute call and neither the caller nor the answerer did hear a single beep or other sound signifying a recording.

sicofante

That's weird. The developer himself said a few hours ago that it isn't beepless (read below).

Cuonglb? Can you explain this?

sicofante

I'll reply to myself.

It definitely seems to be beepless. I asked Cuong at his website in a different way and he said no beep is to be heard on either side. So his answer a few hours ago here must have been a misunderstanding or some "lost in translation" thing. :-)

The fact the app is free (as in free speech) and will be opensourced soon is the final reason I'll be buying my N9 soon. I'll try helping Cuong when the source is available later in the year.

Hi, no it is not beepless.

Too bad. I find it almost useless then. At least, using any call recording app without beep suppression tech on my E52 is simply absurd. The beep is so loud it almost hurts.

Is this a limitation of the API? Do you know what's exactly the problem and if there's any workaround possible?
